Parents are expected to follow the hierarchy by reaching out from the bottom up.
Example: Your scout is unable to make it to scouts, email/text your child's L.I.T. first (if they have one). They will inform the leader of that patrol. If you have a hard time reaching them, then you email/text the leader of the patrol. You keep moving up from there.
Your leaderships email addresses and phone numbers are provided at the bottom of our weekly emails.

Leadership Structure
Each group of scouts is the responsibility of their Scout Leader.
Kerakouyn (Upper Leadership) are leaders 21 & over that have had experience as a leader and look over the specific group programs as a whole. They are in charge of the leaders, LITs and variches within the group that they are in charge of to ensure the scouts are advancing in the appropriate amount of time. Also, they organize big events for the troop such as camps, fundraisers, outings, etc. They are mostly college students and/or full time employees who come to scouts to plan and implement programs every Saturday. A lot of their work gets done outside of scouting hours as well.
Leaders are 18 & over veteran scouts from our scouting program who have chosen to give back to their troop by leading and teaching the next generation of scouts. Scout Leaders are volunteers that are mostly college students and have part/full time jobs who come to scouts to plan and implement programs every Saturday. Also, they meet and discuss programming, camps and event planning outside of scouting hours.
Leaders in Training(L.I.T.) are up and coming leaders who are beginning to learn the role and responsibilities of being a Scout Leader. LITs assist the Leaders to gain experience in writing/running programs, camp prep, etc. until they themselves can advance to leader position.
Variches are scouts that are tested on basic leadership skills. They assist the leadership on simple tasks like making calls or sending texts to parents and helping run group programs.
Yeretz are veteran scouts who were once part of the leadership and can no longer volunteer their time weekly due to other commitments. They are called upon to help the leadership with fundraisers, outings or scouts' camp, so that they can focus on their patrols.
